A MONTH OF SUNDAYS
An Editor's Pick for the Quarterly West 2018 Chapbook Contest "Mel Bosworth and Ryan Ridge seek to unsettle the world in A Month of Sundays. They roughen language, making it stark and beautiful and marvelously uneven. They challenge our conceptions of reality. This world is terrible and wonderful. They make the human heart an alien thing, a four dimensional book of love, so that we can see it anew, appreciate it again, for the first time." --Jason Daniels, QW Books Editor Publisher: Quarterly West ISBN: 978-0-9997187-2-8 Publication Date: 3/1/2019 56 Pages. WEIRD WEEKS
An Editor's Pick for the Cupboard Pamphlet 2017 Chapbook Contest
The cats have demands and our hands have become bricks. The fighter pilots always occupy the sky. Our brothers gather up sentimental baseball bats and gift us with the beatings of our lives in broad daylight. These are strange days. These are Weird Weeks. In this microcollection of microfictions, Ryan Ridge and Mel Bosworth hold that we can carry through each humdinger of a day—slapstick and sour in turn—no matter the ridiculousness of our muster. 22nd CENTURY MAN
Winner of the Sixth Finch 2012 Chapbook Contest
Padgett Powell’s The Interrogative Mood is a novel made entirely of questions. In 22nd Century Man, Ryan Ridge poses a sampling of those questions to a trio of internet chatbots: Cleverbot, Brother Jerome, and Sensation Bot. The result is a collage of answers, evasions, glitches, koans, and accidental jokes, a pithy poetic reply to Powell’s book delivered through a strange series of kinetic monologues. Part Racter, part séance in the server room, 22nd Century Man is gloriously unhinged. First published in 2013, the chapbook now reads as an uncanny artifact from the halcyon days of pre-LLM life, back when bots were still dumb, feral, and a little bit funny. Publisher: Sixth Finch Publication Date: 3/6/2013 46 Pages. This book was printed in an edition of 100. The cover is printed on Wausau Royal Linen. The text is laser printed on Neenah Howard linen. |

OX
Ryan Ridge’s Ox is a collection of poetry, but it’s probably unlike any book of poetry you’ve read before. The poems contained within are often clever and lighthearted, but when taken in congress, something begins to emerge: a character and a life – the life of Ox, a life that must be experienced.
